Today, on Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we solemnly honor the memory of the six million Jews and countless other innocent human beings lost in the Holocaust. Among them were queer individuals, political prisoners, Romani people, and individuals with disabilities, all of whom were victims of unimaginable cruelty. We also pay tribute to the survivors and the brave individuals who risked everything to save lives and resist oppression. On this solemn day, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that the lessons of the Holocaust are never forgotten. We pledge to fight against antisemitism, racism, and prejudice in all its forms and to stand together in defense of human rights and dignity. As we reflect on this history, let us listen to the voices of survivors, whose courage and resilience continue to inspire us. Their stories are a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the importance of bearing witness. May this day serve as a call to action—a reminder of our shared responsibility to build a world rooted in compassion, understanding, and justice for all. #jcmhi
